Jewish Educator Condemns UTLA’s Growing Antisemitism and Extremism

Los Angeles, CA—In a video released today by the Freedom Foundation, Barry Blisten, a Jewish educator and plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by seven Los Angeles teachers against the United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA), exposes the union’s ongoing infringement of rights. The lawsuit, backed by the Foundation, accuses UTLA of a long-standing pattern of antisemitic actions and unconstitutional forced association.
Blisten shares his firsthand experience in the union and describes how it gradually transformed from an educational organization into a politically driven, bigoted group that openly endorses hate and antisemitism.
Blisten highlights the alarming shift in UTLA’s stance, specifically how the union has increasingly supported terrorist organizations. He draws a chilling comparison between the warnings his grandparents gave him and the growing cultural mindset within the union, one he likens to the atmosphere that led to the Holocaust. “I would definitely be nervous if I was a UTLA member still,” Blisten recounts. “Who knows what insane thing they’re going to do next?”
