Freedom Foundation Supports Executive Order to End Collective Bargaining with Federal Unions

Dallas, TX—Freedom Foundation CEO Aaron Withe today released the following statement supporting President Trump’s Executive Order to end collective bargaining with Federal unions in certain agencies related to national security:

“For too long, entrenched union interests have blocked critical reforms in the federal workforce, resulting in bloated bureaucracy, inefficiency, and a failure to prioritize the needs of American taxpayers. President Trump’s Executive Order marks a bold attempt to redefine the relationship between federal employees and their unions, building on his broader vision of government efficiency and accountability. By removing the ability of unions to dictate terms on workplace policies, it will give agencies the autonomy they need to function more effectively, especially during times of national crisis.

“We also recognize that the president’s action is a call for broader legislative reform. While this Executive Order is an important first step, it underscores Congress’ responsibility to pass legislation that creates a federal workforce focused on performance, accountability, and service to the American people—starting by prohibiting collective bargaining and banning ‘union time.’ The Freedom Foundation is proud to stand with President Trump in advocating for a government that works for the people, not special interests.”
