New Jersey: Narrow opt-out window no problem

New Jersey witnessed a remarkable shift in union membership dynamics this June, setting a new precedent for members walking away from big government union bondage.

Leading the charge, an impressive 124 members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) NJ decided to cancel their union dues, contributing to a total of 165 opt outs — the highest monthly count so far in 2024 for the Garden State.

What makes this surge even more significant is the incredibly restrictive opt-out window imposed by CWA NJ, which allows members to cancel their dues only on July 1 each year.

Despite this narrow window, the Freedom Foundation’s proactive outreach and unwavering dedication to informing members about their rights sparked a movement of change.

When the Freedom Foundation started spreading the word about the upcoming opt-out window, members acted decisively. This aggressive response is a testament to the power of information and the importance of individual choice.

Our team at the Freedom Foundation is thrilled to see such an impactful outcome. We believe every worker deserves the freedom to decide where their hard-earned money goes.

This June, New Jersey workers made their voices heard, proving that when given the opportunity, they will seize control of their financial independence.

Stay tuned as we continue to empower more workers across New Jersey and beyond. Together, we can make every month a record-breaking opt-out month.
