“Considering the National Education Association was caught providing sexually explicit material to K-12 students without their parents’ knowledge, perhaps they should rethink tweeting that ‘educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and thrive’,” said Freedom Foundation CEO Aaron Withe.
“While most individual teachers care very much for their students, the union’s tweet displayed an appalling level of arrogance that elevates itself above the parents in the students’ lives,” continued Withe. “The tweet was just downright creepy.”
“The decades-long monopoly the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers have had over our education system has resulted in the lowest math and reading scores in 30 years, but they still want total control over what kids are learning in the classroom.”
“Teachers’ unions are openly hostile to parental involvement in education at a devastating cost to millions of young people” concluded Withe. “Their monopoly over our education system must end – and thankfully teachers are getting fed up and resigning their union membership in droves.”
