Biden’s Labor Pick: Just another union fat-cat

“Every day, we’re contacted by government union members who are dissatisfied with the service they receive from their union and feel their membership dues are used to line the pockets and support the lavish lifestyles of the union bosses,” said Aaron Withe, national director of the Freedom Foundation.

“Unfortunately Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, tapped for Labor Secretary, appears no different from those fat-cat union bosses we hear about,” continued Withe. “Since he became a union boss in 2002, his local has lost nearly one-third of its membership, while he earned salaries over $200,000 every year between 2007-2015.”

“We anticipated President-elect Joe Biden would pick a Labor secretary who would advance his agenda,” concluded Withe. “But his nomination receiving high praise from the Presidents of the American Federation of Teachers and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees unions – two of the unions we receive complaints about the most, tells us everything we need to know about how Mayor Walsh would cater to union bosses at the expense of their members.”
