Billboards Expose Facts Unions Desperately Want to Suppress

At the Freedom Foundation, we’re constantly exploring new ways to pierce the veil of union lies and inform public-sector workers about constitutional rights many don’t even realize they have.

And every day, our mailers, e-mails and door-to-door canvassing efforts reach thousands, not just acquainting them with court rulings like Janus v. AFSCME and Harris v. Quinn but also educating them about where their dues money is going and giving them the ability to make informed decisions about whether to maintain their union membership.

Breaking through to those still trapped within the unions’ cone of deceit is our top priority.

This past week we pioneered another approach by putting our messages on billboards around Salem, Ore.

As the state capital, Salem is home to thousands of city, county and state employees, nearly all of whom will be exposed on a daily basis to a truth their union is trying desperately to keep from them.

The unions will complain, of course, and accuse us of union-busting. In reality, it’s just the opposite: Generations of union lies, coercion and corruption have sown the seeds of their own downfall.

We’re simply watering the crop with a little truth to help it sprout that much faster.
