New York Teachers Union Website Post Reveals Panic

In a move that reeks of desperation, the New York State United Teachers Union (NYSUT) has launched a full-scale smear campaign against the Freedom Foundation, as evidenced by a recent article posted to its website headlined, “Anti-Union Propaganda.” In it, union leaders urge members to ignore our outreach efforts, labeling the Freedom Foundation a shadowy organization backed by billionaires intent on destroying public education.

This rhetoric is not only patently false, but also a transparent attempt to distract from the real issue — NYSUT’s fear of losing control over its members.

The union’s call to discard our mailers, block our emails and refuse engagement is a clear sign of panic. They’re terrified that teachers will learn about their rights and the tangible benefits of opting out of union membership.

Yes, the union fears losing members, but why are they using its resources to attack the Freedom Foundation? The answer is simple — because of the Freedom Foundation’s aggressive outreach effort to reach teachers and other public employees in New York.

We’re having an impact.

When educators realize they no longer need to fund a union that prioritizes its political power over the needs of its members, NYSUT stands to lose its grip.

At the Freedom Foundation, our mission is straightforward — empower teachers with the knowledge and freedom to make informed choices. We believe in transparency, fairness and putting educators’ needs first.

NYSUT’s attempts to silence us only underscore the significance of our work.

It’s critical for NYSUT members to see through the union’s tactics and understand the true motivations behind its warnings. Why would a union so vehemently oppose open dialogue and the dissemination of information?

Again, the answer is simple: They fear losing their monopoly on power and control.

Teachers deserve better. They deserve the freedom to decide what’s best for their careers and their values without being bullied or misled by those who claim to represent them. It’s time to break free from fearmongering and make choices based on facts and personal convictions.

Join the movement and make your voice heard. Stand with the Freedom Foundation as we continue to ramp up our outreach to empower every New York teacher with the knowledge of their rights and options.
