On Sept. 7, Orange Unified School District became one of several districts in the nation to pass a parent notification policy requiring school personnel to inform parents when their child identifies a gender identity other than the one they were born with.
While this may seem like common sense to the ordinary person, it has been a subject of intense debate within the California school system as several groups, including the California Teacher Association’s local affiliate, the Orange Unified Education Association, have taken exception to the action.
Like students virtually everywhere, the test scores of those being educated in Orange County continue to plummet, yet teachers unions continue to regard it as their primary duty to proselytize about far-left political values rather than serving the interests of teachers, parents or students.
The OUEA insists the new regulation “…violates the California State Constitution and U.S. Constitution, which ensures privacy as an inalienable right,” demonstrating a bizarre interpretation of both documents. One teacher on the ground was Brenda Lebsack, a stalwart community member and the coordinator of Interfaith Statewide Coalition, a group dedicated to increasing parents’ rights in the state.
From what she witnessed at the vote; she claims that without the parent notification it would “only put children at greater risk.
While she attended the meeting, she was shocked to witness a major disruption by members of the Revolutionary Communist Party. That’s right, self-identified communists arrived before the vote to shout with bullhorns in vehement opposition to the bill.
After much turmoil and a shouting match between the two groups, the protesters were finally removed by police officers and escorted away, although not before they could be heard shouting “With humanity for LGBTQ people” to “Get ready for a revolution to overthrow this whole system that gave birth to this white supremacy and this male supremacy,” as Fox News reported.
When the local teacher’s union and the Revolutionary Communist Party are able to agree to support the same agenda, eyebrows are raised. This small coalition has far more sinister implications for the CTA and the state. While they may have different methods to achieve their goals, their values are aligned, and they wish to create a radical new world to their liking.
The Revolutionary Communists employ cruder, more disruptive methods to achieve their aims, while CTA and its affiliates have play the long game. Using the dues they were once able to collect from every teacher before the U.S. Supreme Court in Janus v. AFSCME (2018) made mandatory membership and dues illegal and what the union confiscates from its current 290,000-member base, CTA has been filling school boards all over the state with its hand-picked shills. These union stooges can then be expected to rubberstamp Big Labor’s far-left political agenda in what is one of the most corrupt bargains in American politics.
The tragedy isn’t that the Orange County School District took the reasonable action it did. It’s that the far-left and its teachers’ union funding arm made this necessary.
